INDIAN BANK OPENS ITS NEW BRANCH AT ASIA-PACIFIC INSTITUE OF MANAGEMENT. NEW DELHI, Jan 24 : Indian Bank opened its new branch within the campus premises of Asia-Pacific Institute of Management (AIM) located at Jasola in New Delhi. Indian Bank Chairman and Managing Director M.S Sundara Rajan inaugurated the branch after the customary ribbon cutting and lighting of the lamp accompanied by Mr. A.K. Shrivastava , Chairman of AIM. Mr. Rajan also inaugurated the new Marketing and Admission Blocks of AIM. After the inaugural ceremony, he addressed the students and faculty members of the institute in the B.B Verma Auditorium within the campus. Mr. Shrivastava felicitated all the guests by presenting a NATRAJ statue and a shawl to them. During his address, Mr. Rajan requested the students to take up the studies seriously as numeroius opportunities lay ahead for them. He also mentioned that still in India only 40% people use banking. so he suggested the students to bank upon the remaining 60% and enjoy their work. “By the year 2009, India will open the banking sector to the International market which might swallow Indian Banks, so you must know Risk Management and prepare yourself accordingly in this Global village,” he said. The Bank in the Campus would help the students and staff with banking solutions and also help the students attain education loans easily. It would also play a major role in fee deposition, mentioned the Director of AIM, Dr. D. Pathak. Establishment of the only bank in Jasola region has added to utmost relief for the local people too as there is no other bank within the radius of two kilometers. Those present on the occasion were thankful to AIM and the Indian Bank. The ATM for the bank will be functional within a fortnight. Also present on the occasion were Mr. R. Raghavan, Deputy General Manager of Indian Bank (New Delhi Branch) and Mr. V. Srinivasan, General Manager for Human Resources of Indian Bank.
