Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield Announce New Programs & Events

The Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield announces several upcoming fun programs and events. The 1,000 member strong club provides the area’s youth between the ages of 6-18 with enrichment and recreation programs in a safe environment.
 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jan 21, 2008 – The exciting new educational program, known as “Go Girl Go”.  Go Girl Go is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in third through eighth grades.  Registration begins on January 23rd. The program, which will be held on Wednesdays, begins April 12th and runs for eight sessions.  It is a great opportunity for girls to make new friends, gain self-confidence and learn more about themselves.  

A dance will be held at the Boys and Girls Club in Marshfield on Friday, February 8th, from 7 to 10 p.m. for children ages 10-12 years old.  The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non members.  Tickets go on sale on Monday, February 4th.
   
On February 19th, the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield will have a snow tubing field trip to Nashoba Valley’s Tubing Park in Littleton, Mass.  The cost is $25 and those interested should inquire about it at the club.

Stay tuned for the next “Girls Night Out” program at the club which is specifically geared towards girls ages 6 years old and up.  Girls will enjoy pizza and soda, arts and crafts, hair and makeup, and fun games.  Girls Night Out typically runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and it is led by high school girls from the Boys and Girls’ Keystone Club.

About the Boys and Girls Club
The Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield’s purpose is to establish a safe haven for recreation, which includes a variety of supervised activities for greater than 4,000 youths within the town.  With the mission “To inspire all young people to realize their full potential as productive and responsible citizens, as well as become tomorrow’s capable leaders”, the club is geared towards children between the ages of 6 to 18 years old.  

The Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield has five Core Areas:  Character and Leadership; Education and Career; Health, Sport Fitness Recreation and Life Skills; The Arts; and Technology.  These Core Areas serve as the foundation for all programming.
   
As a non-profit organization, volunteers are always welcome at the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield.  Currently, volunteers are needed for the Nutrition and Healthy Habits programs.  Volunteer applications are available on the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield website.
