Cincinnati Gutter & Roof Protection announces it's test results using Alcoa's Leaf Relief gutter guard. John Allen, General manager of Cincinnati Gutter & Roof Protection said " We have been installing Alcoa's Leaf Relief gutter guard here in Cincinnati Ohio for the last 5 years with outstanding results"! Cincinnati Gutter & Roof Protection has been testing the Alcoa Leaf Relief gutter guard product for the last 5 years, monitoring the performance of the product.
Mr. Allen said "Alcoa's Leaf Relief gutter guard has exceeded our expectations, we virtually have had no complaints with this gutter protection product. We have installed this product on over 1000 homes in the Greater Cincinnati Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Dayton Ohio areas with little to no problems." Cincinnati Gutter & Roof Protection has used other gutter guards in the past until Alcoa unveiled it's Leaf Relief product about 5 years ago (in the USA). Mr. Allen said "We were skeptical like everyone else, we have tried some of the other products on the market, and most of the other products we installed were either not very effective with tree debri or difficult to install. Alcoa's Leaf Relief gutter guard is VERY effective and it's not difficult to install compared to other systems."
There are a wide variety of gutter guards on the market, we asked Cincinnati Gutter & Roof Protection why they chose Alcoa's Leaf Relief as their choice of gutter guards. Mr. Allen said "Alcoa is a huge corporation for one, they offer the homeowner a 10 year no clog, no overflow guarantee. Alcoa did it's homework before putting their Leaf Relief gutter guard on the market. Leaf Relief (a.k.a. Gutter Clean Systems) was originally introduced in Ontario Canada in 1997. Shortly after the Alcoa Leaf Relief system was introduced, it wasn't long before Leaf Relief saturated the Ontario Canada market. Alcoa had the Leaf Relief system tested by Intertek Testing Laboratory's LTD. The results proved Alcoa's Leaf Relief gutter guard handled 29.7 inches of water per hour (20 foot roof section). That’s 2.5 times greater than the official rainfall world record (Kilauea, Hawaii- 12 inches in one hour). Equally impressive were the results for obstructed water flow, 19 inches of water per hour when covered with wet leaves (20 foot roof section). Still 1.5 times greater than the world record."
Another factor is the cost, Cincinnati Gutter & Roof Protection says that homeowners may over pay if they choose another system. Since the Alcoa Leaf Relief system is not a franchise, the costs are not nearly as expensive as some of the other gutter protection competitors. Mr. Allen said, home owners can expect to pay 1/3 to 1/2 less of most of their competitors, with more benefits compared to other systems. What I mean by benefits Allen said " take a reverse curve system for example: http://s87.photobucket.com/
"Another advantage to Alcoa's Leaf Relief gutter guard is the fact that the reverse curve system that you will see in the above link has an open gap, it attracts bees, wasps, and mosquito's to nest inside the gutter and becomes a breeding ground for pests. We actually removed a reverse curve system this summer that was fairly new because it's lack of performance. It took us two days to remove the system, not because it was difficult, but because it had 45 huge wasp nests inside. Leaf Relief is completely enclosed, eliminating the possibility of pest invasion." Ice sickles, roof penetration, visibility from the ground, the material makeup, are all other issues to consider before a homeowner decides on a system. Is the Alcoa Leaf Relief system perfect? Allen, says no it's not, and there is not a perfect system on the market and probably never will be in our opinion, but this product is as good as it gets in our opinion for the homeowner and the contractor that has to install it. John Allen says "If homeowners will do a little homework and due diligence on their own they will discover what we have, and that's contractor and homeowners all across the country are having great results with Alcoa's Leaf Relief gutter guard system, and also saving a bundle."
