PRLog (Press Release) –
Jan 18, 2008 – After 11 weeks more than just the entertainment industry is suffering from the writers strike. The effects of the strike are spreading across the economy in ways we can't even imagine. Thousands of individuals in the entertainment business have lost their jobs as a result but there are thousands, possibly tens of thousands of individuals in peripheral industries whose jobs have been affected. The local cleaner, the nearby restaurant, the grocery store...the list goes on and on; not to mention those of us who sit at home and watch reruns of our favorite shows - hey it's only January guys. The Golden Globe press conference was a big letdown and now the Grammys and Oscars are threatened. We've been told that the 2009 TV season may be lost as the pilot season is slipping away.
What to do? "Maybe they should attend a negotiations seminar," says Executive Vice President of SeminarInformation.com, Mona Piontkowski, "get some tips on how to get the process going." "There are some really good courses out there," she adds. "Hey, it couldn't hurt and may actually get them thinking of ways to work together to solve this mess."
