Auction.ph hits 1M members

PR Log (Press Release) – Jan 17, 2008 – Auction.ph, the foremost online shopping mall in the Philippines, surpassed the 1M mark in terms of membership.  As of November 2007, the website has a total of 1,001,274 members.  Last year's target was recently extended from 1M to 1.2M on account of the accelerated growth rate.  

Through member-generating promos and online events, the website achieved a 266% growth increase in the third quarter of 2007. A total of 604,457 individuals registered for free membership during the said period.  Average number of page views daily also increased by more than 100% from 93,675 in the 2nd quarter to 188,897 in the 3rd quarter.  

The company’s extensive online and offline marketing campaigns are starting to show encouraging results for the website and for the e-commerce industry in general.  Marketing highlights last year included an advertising campaign featuring a local celebrity, free text promos and aggressive below-the-line efforts.

This year, the website aims to increase the number of transactions through strategic tie-ups and pro-buyer promos.
