The demonstration will be calling for -
Our family laws to be investigated thoroughly and changed to be fair and totally in the best interests of our children.
Equal parenting. Our governments have agreed that it is generally in the best interest of a child to have contact with both parents. Equal parenting would prevent one person using children as personal weapons for revenge and blackmail against other family members.
The Charter for Grandchildren to be properly recognised. Our government have also agreed that contact with grandparents is generally in the best interest of the child, but professionals need to be guided by the Charter.
Professionals dealing with children to be prevented from using the ‘best interests of the child’ principle inappropriately.
Protection of ‘The Forgotten Children’ in drug and alcohol abuse homes where children are being abused and non-resident parents or grandparents are prevented from helping them.
No adoption without consent - Families must be fully consulted and considered. Targets to gain bonuses create crooked, lying social workers.
No flouting of court orders. This makes a mockery of our justice system.
Our government to instruct our courts, solicitors, social services and other bodies dealing with families to change their attitudes so that children can benefit.
PS. If you cannot manage or are on the other side of the world. Please email First Minister Alec Salmond scottish.ministers@
