NHS Choices launches interactive history of organ donation

NHS Choices launched an interactive timeline on Donation aimed to help people understand how one of the most miraculous achievements of modern medicine has enabled over 3,000 people every year to take on a new lease of life in the UK.

Based on NHS accredited information, the interactive timeline (http://www.nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/transplant.aspx?Tag=) enables users to scroll through the milestones of organ and blood donation since 1902. It explores through images and video the many individuals who have played a vital role in making donation a reality. This interactive tool is the latest addition to the NHS Choices’ extensive tools library.
“This interactive timeline has been created with users in mind and is a valuable addition to an ever growing armoury of health resources being made available to the public by the NHS Choices”, said a spokesman. “It puts patients in the driving seat by giving them exactly the sort of reliable and dependable information they need to take control of their health at the click of a mouse”.
