Omaha rockers Cold Steel will be entering the studio with engineer Jim Homan (Grasshopper Takeover, Echobliss) at Ware House Productions in Omaha, Nebraska on January 20th to begin recording their first full-length CD.
“We’ve been writing nonstop, really working on crafting these new songs,” said guitarist Matt DiBaise. “So far, we’re extremely happy with the tracks we’re planning to record. I think they’re some of the best songs we’ve ever written.”
This will be the second recording in a row with Homan manning the boards. After several months following 2007’s debut EP, “And It Begins”, Cold Steel is heading into the studio more prepared and creative than ever before.
“We really enjoyed working with an Omaha legend like Jim on our EP,” said drummer Gage McClain. “We were very happy with how it turned out. This time, we’re going in with a full list of songs to record.”
Expect a February or early March 2008 release.
ABOUT COLD STEEL
Cold Steel was formed in January 2005 by neighbors Gage McClain (drums) and Josh Graves (bass) and is unique on several fronts. Two of the band’s members are identical twins (lead singer Alex DiBaise and his brother, lead guitarist Matt DiBaise), and the current age range of the band is 14 to 16 years old. Their music draws from their influences Iron Maiden, Metallica and Avenged Sevenfold among others, and Cold Steel’s songwriting and musicianship is mature well beyond their years.
