Outdoorkit are pleased to announce that they have just launched a new range of Vibram Five Finger shoes both in store and online.

This new approach to shoes provides a separate "finger" for each toe, providing the following advantages over regular shoes:
Enhanced running efficiency: the toes and arches of the foot can work more effectively.
Better blood flow: as the foot sits naturally rather than on a rubber plate, more muscle groups are activated, increasing blood flow to the legs and feet.
Lowered risk of injury: removing the soft sole of a normal trainer results in the runner naturally flexing the foot and also landing more towards the middle of the foot, allowing the natural cushioning structures in the soft tissue of the foot to work more effectively.
Diminish risk of bunions: regular footwear can result in the big toe being pushed towards the middle of the shoe, increasing wear on the big toe. Five Fingers have separate sections for each toe, so each toe sits in its natural position and is also wrapped in protective rubber.
Improve balance: removing the bulk of a regular trainer allows for more feedback from your feet and toes, hence improving your balance.
The Five Finger shoes are available for both men and women, in a range of colours.
