New fiction novel asks: Are We Doomed to Repeat Mistakes of the Past?

Dangerous Voyage to Alpha Centauri, explores how science in this century will prove to be the most constructive, and destructive, force around us. We’ll have to deal with the problems unless we understand its powers for creation and destruction.

Jan. 14, 2008 - PRLog -- In recent years, the importance of preserving our environment and the changes brought on by global warming and science have come to the forefront. However, are the scientific cures we’ve developed going to eventually cause more harm than good?

In Dangerous Voyage to Alpha Centauri, the new fiction novel by Fritz F. Reichert, those concerns are brought to the forefront as Reichert shows how science in this century will prove to be the most constructive, and destructive, force around us.

In Dangerous Voyage to Alpha Centauri, it’s the year 2044 and scientists have just revealed new advances to extend the longevity of human life. Within the span of a few years, the world’s population explodes unmanageably. To compensate for the increase in population, mankind is forced to colonize the moon. But as millions already live deep under the moon’s surface, it becomes necessary to search for planets outside our solar system.

“My point in writing this book is to show some of the problems mankind has been facing since the last century,” says Reichert. “I have no doubt; we and our children will be confronted by these problems during this century.”

Dangerous Voyage to Alpha Centauri gives us a chilling portrait of what our world could come to in the not-too-distant future if we don’t start thinking about our actions and the potential repercussions now.
