FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jan 07, 2008 – Campbell, Calif. — Jan. 7, 2008 — Focus Enhancements, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCSE), a worldwide leader in Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, received a patent for its “Method and Apparatus for Frequency Division Multiplexing” containing key intellectual property (IP) for achieving better performance from UWB radios.

This patent is an important addition to the significant IP the company already posses in the area of TV-out video encoder technology. The technology centers on the aggressive use of digital signal processing and direct digital synthesis of wireless information, which provides more precise, reproducible and stable radio signals leading to better wireless performance.

“Through the extensive use of powerful digital synthesis engine and meticulous generation of waveforms, our UWB components create much more resilient communications between devices,” said Ken Boehlke, principle architect for Focus Enhancements’ Semiconductor Group and author of the patent. “Our high quality waveforms create stronger links between devices making the radios more sensitive, resulting in a more stable network.”

“Plain and simple, this technology enables us to produce better UWB radios – radios that transmit faster and farther, which we use in high performance chips,” said Tom Hamilton, executive vice president and general manager of Focus Enhancements’ Semiconductor Group. “This increased performance is crucial for market acceptance.”

The company will be demonstrating reference designs and Hub & Dongle USB products using this patented technology at CES 2008 in Las Vegas from Jan. 7 to Jan. 10, 2008, in the Central Hall, booth 15003.
