BakersGuide.com Readers Name Leading Christian Distance Education Programs

Readers of Baker’s Guide to Christian Distance Education (http://www.bakersguide.com) have selected their most popular Christian distance and online programs for 2007.  Greenwich Theological Seminary, Northwest Nazarene University, Northwestern College, and A Beka Academy offered the most searched doctoral, masters, bachelors, and K-12 programs respectively based on visits to the BakersGuide.com Christian Distance Learning Degree and Program Directory.

Greenwich Theological Seminary (in partnership with North-West University) had the most frequented doctoral program with its Ph.D. in Theology degree.  Northwest Nazarene University’s online Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree was the most popular master’s program while Northwestern College’s Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biblical Studies was the top undergraduate program.  In the K-12 and homeschooling category, A Beka Academy’s accredited DVD and traditional programs for kindergarten through high school took most popular honors.

According to Jason D. Baker, author of the Baker’s Guide to Christian Distance Education website, Christian online learning has become a popular option for many.  “Since I started tracking programs over a decade ago, I’ve seen tremendous growth in number of schools, universities, and seminaries offering online Christian degrees.  I expect that we’ll continue to see significant growth in the years to come.”
