Canadian musician, author and music business expert Michael Wood will be stopping by CTV's Business News Network (BNN) for a chat with host Amanda Lang. Mr. Wood will appearing live, Friday January 4th at approximately 5:30PM on the one hour show "Squeeze Play". Recent past guests on the show have included former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien, Heather Reisman (CEO of Indigo Books) and other very well known heads of companies and government.
Longtime Canadian musician for the band "Circuit", Mr. Wood will be discussing his recently released book on the business of music entitled "You've Got A Friend In The 'Biz" where he recounts his life and travels as a musicians and incorporates points of view from his own "friends in the biz". Producers, Montel Williams Show), Dale Penner (Producer, Nickelback), Sylvia Massey-Shivy (Producer, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and many more.
The book was designed to be a guide to the industry and how to get ahead while hopefully avoiding some pitfalls along the way. Whether the reader be a budding "guitar hero" or someone looking to break into the business side, the book appeals to all desires. The guide also provides unique opportunities for musicians and upcoming or current executives to actually email and ask Mr. Wood questions and obtain his personal contact directory at no cost.
Surely, also up for discussion will be Mr. Wood's voting membership for the 50th anniversary Grammy Awards to be held February 10, 2008, being a professor at the young age of 31 at one of the largest schools in Canada and the partial proceeds from the sale of the book going to children's charities.
