USB Flash Drives, their uses and their future to be explained in a 1-day on-line event expected to draw 30,000 promotional products salespeople.

On January 26th 2007, the 16 billion dollar North American promotional products industry and its nearly 70,000 salespeople are invited to the first of its kind, an industry wide on-line seminar to be hosted by Flash Drive specialists, Flash Drive Direct. The purpose of the seminar will be to explain in depth how a Flash Drive works, what is NAND technology, why there are chip price fluctuations and the unlimited potential and future of the USB Flash Drive for the promotional products industry.

In the past 3 years advanced electronics (ie USB flash drives, digital picture frames, PDA’s, Mp3’s, Mp4’s and I-Pods) have gone from less than 1% of the overall industry sales to nearly 5 %.  This has caused a serious problem faced by many promotional products distributors. Their working knowledge of the technology behind what they are selling is lacking in credibility. This is causing a significant lack of confidence on behalf on their consumer.

“In the past 30 years the promotional products industry has been pretty simple” states industry maven John Graham of Flash Drive Direct.” There were T-shirts, hats, polo’s and a wide array of gadgets, none of them very technical. Now the consumer is demanding far more sophisticated promotional products, especially in the electronics field. Items such as Flash Drives, PDA’s and such were once the domain of the IT department, now as prices have fallen and the corporate community has seen the positive potential of these business tool the promotional products reseller has been called upon to be part of the supply chain. The problem with this is that the sophistication of some of these items, their uses and operating systems are not fully understood by the reseller. These has lead to a crisis of confidence amongst both the reseller and consumer,” Graham adds.

Flash Drive Direct; along with other electronics specialists will take part in the upcoming January 26th no charge on-line seminar. It is expected to draw 20-30,000 promotional products specialists and its stated goal is to increase the knowledge and depth of understanding for the reseller in the fast-paced field of promotional electronics. Login information and sign up are available on line.
