The company, based in Garden Grove, Calif., surpassed the 20 million mark in December of 2007, after processing more than 3.5 million of the overall total in the 11 months between January and November of 2007. Of that 3.5 million, nearly 250,000 came directly through Fannie Mae.
Calling the recent achievement “a result of market need meeting experience and support,” Informative Research Business Development Manager Donovan Williams stressed that consistent annual growth in the number of Fannie Mae transactions is “only half of the story.”
“Overall, the numbers have been steadily rising in the 10-plus years we’ve been handling these [Fannie Mae] transactions,”
According to Williams, the 20 million-transaction milestone is attributable in large part to the reliability of the Informative Research Web-based credit system, and the company’s longstanding relationship with Fannie Mae. As one of the GSE’s first direct credit connections, Informative Research began supplying mortgage originators with electronic credit reports through the Fannie Mae MORNETPlus system in 1996.
In 2006, the credit information provider launched an affiliate program that gives “tier-2” credit reporting agencies access to the Fannie Mae system. The transactions generated through this program also helped Informative Research reach the 20 million mark, the company said.
