Dec 26, 2007 – YnFx PriceWatch Report dated has reported that Crude oil prices remained at last week level across markets and specs and are expected to remain stable in the last couple of weeks of 2007. Europe brent at IPE got quoted at US$90.52 a barrel while US Light sweet was quoted at US$90.31 a barrel. Nymex futures were at US$90.56 a barrel.
OPEC basket rose by US$2 to US$87.31 a ton whereas in Asia, Far East crude oil price was quoted US$86.88 a barrel and the prices are expected to stay stable on the back of reduced shipments. Naphtha prices in Japan was quoted at US$877 a ton, CFR while in Rotterdam it was at US$682 a ton FOB. Naphtha contract prices and Singapore swap prices remained stable in the week. PFY prices for respective specs in Malaysia and Indonesia were stable in the week. POY 75D was quoted at US$1.60 a kg. However, in China prices for POY were stable, FDY prices for most specs were 3-9 cents similarly DTY prices fell 1-5 cents. PSF prices in the week in China for 1.4D/38 mm SD softened by 3 cents across markets. 1.4D/38 mm SD in China for Delivered terms was quoted at US$1.68 a kg whereas in Taiwan it was quoted at US$1.42 a kg, FOB terms. Ethylene prices in the week jumped US$40 – US$65 in NW Europe and was quoted at US$1,370 a ton, CIF terms. In Asia prices increased US$10-15. In NE Asia it was quoted at US$1,270 a ton while in SE Asia it was quoted at US$1,240 a ton, both CFR terms respectively. Paraxylene prices in the week across markets sobered US$10-15 a ton. In Korea, paraxylene was at US$1,090 a ton and in Europe, it was at US$1,020 a ton, FOB terms. MEG prices continued its fall and fell by about US$30-100 a ton. MEG front month offer prices in Korea and Taiwan were at US$1,500 a ton falling by US$50. Mainstream prices in China fell US$70 to US41, 470 a ton, whereas nomination prices of the major companies in Asia was unchanged. PTA prices fell across markets in the week by US$10-20 respectively. PTA offers in Korea and Taiwan was quoted at US$825 a ton, down US$15 whereas in China Mainstream price was quoted at US$820 a ton. NFY prices in India, China and Korea remained stable across most grades. POY 85D/24 SD was quoted at US$3.10 a kg while FDY 40D/12D SD was at US$4 a kg. Nylon chips prices in the week remained entirely stable across markets. Polypropylene 1.5D 38 mm price in local China prices was quoted at US$1.71 down by 4 cents. Prices for other spec remained stable. Prices in Turkey for polypropylene remained stable and ranged from US$2.43-US$2.71 a kg. Caprolactam prices in FE Asia and SE Asia declined US$55 to US$2,420 whereas in China, caprolactam prices from East Europe and Russia increased US$40 and US$30 respectively. Polypropylene 1.5D 38 mm local China prices were quoted at US$1.71 down by 4 cents. Prices for other spec remained stable. ASF prices in the week was stable in China, Taiwan and India however 3D wet spin mainstream offer was at US$2.46 a kg. Acrylonitrile prices in North China for Self lifting in the week were US$2,103 declining US$67. In India, Acrylonitrile prices were quoted at US$1,900 a ton whereas in China it was at US$1,860 a ton. VFY prices in China remained unchanged in the week while in India prices declined 2-3 cents due to a strong rupee. 75D bright and dull in China was quoted at US$7.33 a kg while 100D bright in India was US$5.46 a kg 1.2D bright bleached VSF prices in India got quoted at US$2.86 a kg falling 2 cents. 1.5D/38 mm in local China prices were at US$3.01 a kg while 1.5D VSF price in Pakistan was US$2.87 a kg. Cotlook ‘A’ Far East Asia was quoted at US$1.55 a kg increasing 2 cents whereas New York cotton futures increased 3 cents to US$1.46 a kg. China cotton index was quoted at US$1.84 a kg. In India, Cotton prices declined across most specs and the standard Shankar-6 was at US$1.39 a kg.
