Dec 22, 2007 – The reports by Ovetii and statements such as those by a prominent US Financial Corporation which have expressed some positive sentiments regarding the US market turmoil seem to be easing some fears about financial sector losses. Microsoft recently raised its profit outlook, giving the Nasdaq a large, much-needed boost.
Countrywide, the largest U.S. mortgage lender, recently announced that the housing slump had led to a $1.2 billion third-quarter loss, but that it expects to report a profit this quarter as it slashes jobs and stabilizes its operations.
Merrill reported making huge write-downs for bad investments related to risky subprime mortgages.
Ovetii analysts are said to be optimistic regarding US markets in the fourth quarter but as yet no official comment has been released by Ovetii regarding the speculations.
