Dec 19, 2007 – Bangkok, Thailand -- CB Richard Ellis Thailand was named Best International Agent in the recent Thailand Property Awards at a gala dinner held at the Royal Orchid Sheraton in Bangkok.
The Thailand Property Awards, now in its second year, is going from strength to strength with 80 entries in 2006 to 112 entries this year. The 'Best International Agent' award was sponsored by the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand. More than 350 of Thailand's real estate elite attended the event to celebrate with the 13 award winners. Mr. David Simister, Chairman of CB Richard Ellis Thailand received the award on behalf of the company. The CB Richard Ellis team is delighted to have been recognised by the industry to receive this award, said Mr. Simister. "Despite some uncertainties, the market in Thailand has remained buoyant in 2007 so much so that CB Richard Ellis has opened two new offices in Koh Samui and Pattaya in response to market demand," he added. Ensign Media, the organiser of the event, has a stringent entry, nomination and selection process that ensures a fair and transparent process. A panel of 22 judges from different sectors of the industry were involved in the final process of selecting winners. Thailand's real estate industry has faced a number of challenges this year with growth being slower than previously expected. However, the success of the 2007 Thailand Property Awards and acknowledgement of the winners by their peers is a good indicator of the underlying quality and dynamism of the industry throughout the country, said Mr. Duncan Worthington, Managing Director of Ensign Media Co.
