Singles Almost New Years Bash! Santa Maria, CA

Dec. 17, 2007 - PRLog -- SANTA MARIA, CA -- Central Coast Singles presents a “Singles Almost New Years Bash” in Santa Maria to end the year. The evening will include a pot luck dinner, comedy, and dancing. The bash will be Saturday, December 29, at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be $3.00 for non-members.

The night starts off with a Pot Luck dinner at 7:00 pm. At 8:00 pm, there will be a comedy show, featuring local professional stand-up comics. There are 4 comedians scheduled to appear, sure to rock the funny bones of the singles. The night will be capped off with live music provided by DJ Avery for dancing. A full bar is available for this event.

This "Bash" is a combination of a singles mingle, dance, and comedy show, and is expected to attract many singles. Central Coast Singles has had individual events before which were very popular. Gerald Craig, group organizer, stated that he is looking forward to having more events. “Dancing, bowling, and karaoke nights are planned, as well as barbeques, game nights, dinners, hikes, and travel.”

Central Coast Singles was founded in early 2005 by Craig, for singles to have places to meet and socialize. Craig says, “It is so hard for singles to find something to do on the Central Coast if they’re not students or seniors. Nobody likes to go out alone, and if you’re not with a group, people think you are out to be picked up. This group allows singles to have fun and socialize, with people they are comfortable with.”

Members include men and women of all walks of life. It is Craig’s goal not to exclude anyone from the group. The group includes members from Lompoc to Paso Robles, and will have events throughout the area. “By alternating locations, we make the group accessible to everyone,” added Craig.

There will be a singles mingle the 4th Saturday of each month for members to meet and get acquainted with each other. This month’s mingle is to celebrate the end of 2007, and prepare for the New Year. Most events are open to all adults, but this month’s event is limited to adults over the age of 21.

Craig stated, “Even though it’s not really the New Year, we will have just as much fun. We don’t plan to have a countdown, but I hope some singles will find someone to share New Year’s Eve with, and have a real countdown together.”
