Prizes include first, second, and third place awards of $10,000, $7,000, and $3,000 respectively. In line with Playyoo’s community-centric philosophy, winners will be selected by Playyoo members and prizes will be awarded to the most popular games based on download statistics and community ratings as of February 28, 2008. Winning games will be announced and showcased on www.playyoo.com.
“Japan has led the world in terms of Flash Lite adoption and development. Over 85% of all handsets shipping in Japan are Flash enabled and there is a well-established community of experienced and creative Flash Lite developers,”
“Although the contest officially ends on February 28, it’s important for developers to submit their games early. Since the winners of the Playyoo Game Contest are based on community ratings, making games available to Playyoo members early on puts a developer in the best position to build a following and take home one of the prizes,” added Thomas N. Burg, Community Evangelist at Playyoo.
An additional $15,000 in cash prizes is available to members of regional Flash Lite User Groups. User Group members who enter the Playyoo Game Contest will automatically be submitted to the 2007 Flash Lite Game Contest for their regional section (Americas, Europe and Africa, Asia Pacific). Winners will be selected by a panel of judges comprised of representatives from Playyoo and Adobe, as well as leading Flash Lite game developers worldwide.
