Phoenix, AZ - A jury of five men and four women reached a verdict in the trial of former Buckeye police officer Brian McAchran v. Knight Transportation. The jury found the trucking company liable for their driver’s actions and awarded damages in the amount of $3,157,000.00. Brian McAchran, a former Buckeye SWAT officer, is married with two children and is still facing a lengthy recovery after suffering a Traumatic Brain Injury and extensive damages to his face and head. Former Officer McAchran was responding to a call in March 2005 when a Knight Transportation semi-truck failed to stop at an intersection and crashed into him, dragging the Officer and his cruiser more than 200 feet.
MG Law Group (http://www.mglawgroup.com), a plaintiff's injury firm specializing in trucking cases, represented Officer McAchran and his family in their case against Knight Transportation. Partners Scott A. Maasen and Jeffrey R. Gill were pleased with the $3,157,000.00 million dollar jury verdict and noted the award will not only cover past and future medical expenses, but will help secure the financial future of the McAchran family, despite the fact that Brian will never work as a police officer again.
