The e-catalogue recently launched to promote Neal’s Yard Remedies’ Autumn/Winter line of products used an Adobe Flash based interface to replicate the feel of a real catalogue online, due to the success of this first catalogue, Neal’s Yard Remedies have commissioned a second.
This technology was previously limited in its application, and generally only distributed as an offline application, preventing the inclusion of any e-commerce use and in turn making the user experience more long winded. The reason behind its limited online use is search engine optimisation;
In working with Fingertap Media and using their search engine optimisation knowledge, Neal’s Yard Remedies have been able to launch an e-catalogue that can be fully indexed by search engines such as Google, securing their highly valuable search ranking and ensuring they gain visitors rather than losing them.
The e-catalogue integrates seamlessly with the existing e-commerce solution on Neal’s Yard Remedies’ website, allowing users to use the e-catalogue as they would a standard e-commerce site. The difference is that users are presented with a more aesthetically pleasing catalogue, one that relates directly to a physical catalogue users will be used to.
