Dr. Henry Panion, III
and business partner and wife, Carol Panion, signed Gospel artist Erick Matthews, Contemporary Christian jazz group Overfloe and seasoned music industry executive Roneld Belton as Vice President of A&R, at Audiostate 55 Recording Studios on Saturday, December 8, 2007 during an official ceremony, to well attended Press Conference.
Overfloe, formed in 2002 is comprised of DeLeon Charley on Saxophonist, Aaron Fulton on Drums, Mario Leonard on Bass Guitar and Guitarist Rush Smith; Fulton having joing the band in 2006. Roneld Belton joins the family of Audiostate 55 Entertainment!
as Vice President of A&R. Belton brings an extensive history of having collaborated with Dr. Panion for more than 10 years. Together they wrote "We Worship You" on the critically-acclaimed project Gospel Goes Classical. Belton feels the immediate future for these newly signed AUDIOSTATE 55 ENTERTAINMENT!
artists will progress rapidly stating, “Overfloe as a group has a lot of dexterity and I know they’ll be warmly embraced by music lovers because of their unique style!” Belton went on to remark that “Erick Matthews really needs no introduction – he’s already a veteran in the Gospel industry – Erick’s material is very different and in line of today’s contemporary Gospel artists, his sound is Urban Contemporary and will reach a lot of our youth. I am very excited about both of these acts!”
Dr. Panion who serves as a UAB Professor, is a Classical Conductor and multi-genre music Producer/Arranger/
Composer, and birthed a musical phenomenon in 2003 forging Classical and Gospel Music, creating Gospel Goes Classical (GGC) featuring a rotation of established Gospel singing artists. GGC 2006 made Billboard history breaking all possible Billboard records with the greatest airplay and sales and by charting: #3 Classical Crossover (greatest airplay and sales gain); #3 Gospel; #12 Christian/Gospel (greatest airplay and sales gain); and, #22 Independent. It is this ability combined with years of guiding Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin – countless other artists – and contemporary Reuben Studdard, that Dr. Panion brings to his vision for AUDIOSTATE 55 ENTERTAINMENT!
