The newest development by the company is the release of two new absorbent sandstone materials for drink coaster use. The first is made from a type of imported Indian sandstone called Ruby, and like its name implies the stone is a deep sea of crimson hues. The second coaster is also made from Indian sandstone, a type named Moondyne. Its surface is very subdued and looks like the gently rolling plain of an untouched dessert.
The two new coasters are being released just before the holiday season and the company has expressed enthusiasm for the move. Marketing manager Jeff Stewarts was quoted as saying “Every test market we have tried these out in has responded favorably, and I really just think the public is going to go crazy for them.”
