After the finish of 2007 Crawfish season, O’Cajcen Seafood in Pearland has won the Best of Citysearch Award (citysearch.com)
For those unfamiliar with real Louisiana style crawfish, owner John Barry explains, "If you don’t have the proper mixture of seasonings and correct cooking process, you will never be able to make a great tasting crawfish. You don’t just boil them and sprinkle a little seasoning on the outside like these other places do it." The crawfish are brought in live daily from Louisiana, then are sorted, cleaned and then boiled to order at O’Cajcen.
Even though O’Cajcen Seafood has been featured in the Pearland Reporter and won the Platinum Best Independent Cajun Restaurant in the Pearland area for 2006 and 2007, the Best of Citysearch Award is a unique honor as it is decided through the votes of customers and fans. One reviewer writes that she even drives all the way from Galveston to satisfy a O’Cajcen crawfish craving.
O’Cajcen Seafood not only provides the best crawfish in town, but it features many other great Cajun food favorites. They always have their dark-rue seafood and sausage gumbo, overstuffed po-boys, ettouffee, red beans and rice and much more.
