Dec. 7, 2007 - PRLog -- The Jones Street Boys (Smith Street Records, Brooklyn, NY) have been voted "Artist of the Month" for December 2007 by New York's music magazine The Deli.  Previous winners include Les Savy Fav, Celebration, and Earl Greyhound.  After a successful October residency at New York's fabled Living Room and an appearance at the Bowery Ballroom, The Jones Street Boys have also announced an upcoming December tour through the Midwest:

12.18.07 - The Basement, Nashville, TN
12.19.07 - Uncle Fester's, Bloomington, IN
12.20.07 - Shank Hall, Milwaukee, WI
12.21.07 - Beat Kitchen, Chicago, IL
12.22.07 - The Old Rock House, St. Louis, MO
12.23.07 - Canal St. Tavern, Dayton, OH

The band's debut album, "Overcome," is out and available on the iTunes Music Store, and on the band's website (http://www.thejonesstreetboys.com).  "Overcome" also features punk legend Jon Langford of The Mekons and The Waco Brothers.

"For a band of Brooklynites, the Jones Street Boys kick up a pretty good hillbilly stomp on Overcome (Smith Street). They play their catchy originals with virtuosic mandolin jams and honky-tonk piano fillers, and top them with off-kilter, good-time harmonies."  -- Time Out New York
