FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) –
Dec 06, 2007 – Baltimore, MD --- On November 24, 2007, the first casting call for models to participate in Baltimore’s Fashion Week had a tremendous turnout and an overwhelming success with 149 models showing up. “I was surprised at the turn out. The diversity of the models was amazing,” say Saran Fossett.
From pint-sized fashionistas in training to agency managed individuals, both young and old, sizes ranging from zero to plus size, they all came to the Enoch Pratt Free Library - Walbrook Branch to show off their signature saunter for Baltimore’s Fashion Week. “We want to put New York in Baltimore. We are trying to get rid of the clique of a Baltimore Fashion show. With Baltimore’s Fashion Week, we have the ability to change all of that,” says Fossett. During the casting call Sharan Nixon opened with a brief introduction of Baltimore’s Fashion Week and introduced the team, although not at the review table Antoine Brown assisted with the selection of models, and Antoneo Braxton, Director of Photography took photographs of each model after they auditioned. At the review table to assist with the audition of models were Wesley Watson, Fossett’s assistant, Christopher Wills, Saran’s music director, and Melissa Needy, Owner of L&M Modeling Agency and a sponsor of Baltimore’s Fashion Week. The models at the casting call were full of energy, sass, and smiles. Out of the 149 models that attended this casting call a total of 98 models were selected to participate in Baltimore’s Fashion Week. I have participated in many auditions and held a few casting calls myself and this is the first time that I have ever heard of a turnout like this. Normally, you have to have at least three or more casting calls just to get a good 20. Baltimore really represented itself!” says Sharan Nixon. All results were posted on the website by 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2007. “Being a woman of my word, my only goal for that weekend after the casting call was to make sure the numbers were up on the site by 7:00 a.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007,” says Nixon. The number of the selected models will be posted on the site. The Baltimore’s Fashion Week team was extremely pleased at the caliber of skills all of the models possessed and would like to thank all of the models that participated in the first casting call. The next casting call will be held in January 2008. To learn more about Baltimore’s Fashion Week and upcoming events, visit www.baltimoresfashionweek.com.
