Report Buyer, the online destination for business intelligence for major industry sectors, has added two new reports which forecast that while the wireless penetration level in the United States mobile market will be 92.9%, in Canada it will be 77.6%.
“Q4 Mobile Forecast: United States, 2007 - 2010” predicts that in the next three years the United States will possess a wireless subscriber base of 297 million subscribers. In addition, the report says a 25% market share for Verizon Wireless and Cingular Wireless.
Another report that focuses on the North American telecoms market, “Q4 Mobile Forecast: Canada, 2007 – 2010,” predicts that Rogers Wireless will continue to have the largest number of subscribers of 9.4 million in 2010. The level of competition with the two other operators in the market will be maintained with Rogers Wireless, Bell Mobility and Telus Mobility having similar market shares (by subscribers)
Authors of the report forecast that in Canada, in 2010, the operator with the highest ARPU in the region will be Sprint-Nextel at $58.88. Sprint-Nextel also will have the highest data ARPU of $13.25.
Analysts say that MOU per subscriber in the two countries will be very different in 2010, primarily reflecting pricing differentials in the Canadian and US markets. They believe that pricing will be an average MOU/month of 855 minutes in the United States while Canada is expected to have an average MOU/month of only 497 minutes.
Both publications cover the U.S telecommunications market of the United States and Canada, with 65 financial and operational metrics on 11 wireless operators.
