Acne, The Major Hormonal Disorder

Pituitary gland found in the base of brain secretes hundreds of hormones that control other glands and their hormones like thyroid glands produces thyroxin.

Hormones also control male and female characteristics of your body. When you grow, your sex organs become mature by stimulation of these hormones. Yet all activities are controlled by hormones from digestion to maturity.

There are hundreds of hormonal disorders affecting every aspect of life. For instance, thyroid glands produce thyroxin. Thyroxin controls bone growth, vision, respiration etc. The fluctuation in the production of thyroxin may result in low and weak growth of bones, weak vision and arthritis etc.

Similarly, your sex organs produce certain hormones called androgenic hormones. Testosterone is one of the androgenic hormones that directly affect on muscles and hair follicles. Hair follicles are susceptible to excessive testosterone. Acne is the disorder of inflammation of hair follicles and sebaceous glands.

Excessive hormones trigger sebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum which get stuck within narrowed hair follicles. When hair follicles are clogged, and sebum is being produced continuously, it exerts pressure on walls of hair follicles and causes to rupture them. At this juncture, one or several bumps appear called whiteheads, blackheads or pimples.

Although there are various causes of acne, hormones do play its integral part in acne breakouts. Western diet and culture involves more in hormonal disorders.

Normal production of hormones requires efficient amount of healthy nutrients. Junk and super refined foods lose their vitamins and minerals that may ultimately pose you to hormonal disorder. Hormonal disorder is one of the leading causes of acne, flare ups especially in people eating western diet and adopting western culture.

Now the question arises how hormonal disorders can be prevented and eliminated from our precious lives? Avoid too many junk and refined foods such as chocolate, ice cream, candies, biscuits, tea, coffee etc. But it does mean that you avoid all these stuffs strictly. You can take them seldom just to change the taste of mouth and pleasure.
