Things are heating up around the Wine School of Philadelphia, just in time for the holidays. We are hosting one last Sommelier Smackdown in 2007. Zagat recently called our Smackdowns the city's "Latest hot culinary competition."
School Founder Keith Wallace is taking on his friend & colleague Brian Freedman to the ultimate duel: It’s the Sommelier Smackdown End-of-Year Bout.
In the past months, Wallace and Freedman have gone up against some of Philly’s toughest contenders - Christophe Tassan, Ryan Davis, Jeff Bloom, Christophe Guillot, Anthony Masapollo – pairing food with wine on limited budgets and strict rules. Some rounds have been won, some lost – with a few glorious victories going to each man.
There will be wine. There will be food. There will be judgment. This may not be the “sweet science” of Muhammad Ali and George Foreman; but it is a sweet science, nonetheless.
And with Wallace and Freedman entering the ring, it’s also personal. This is one food and wine match that is not to be missed!
