FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Dec 03, 2007 – Around 56% of people suffer weather induced acne, Journal of Dermatology

Atlanta, Georgia, 11/30/2007 – Department of Research Writing at Acne Clearup reports that around 56% of people including males and females suffer weather-Induced acne, according to the study published in the Journal of Dermatology.

Acne flare ups are common in summer while it improves in winter. People want to know if it is the real cause. If so, why?

A study conducted on 452 people revealed that around 56% people experience bad acne breakouts during summer and they improve in winter.

It is due to direct exposure of sunlight, dermatologists say. Sunlight contains ultraviolet rays that damage hair follicles and induces sebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum. Hair follicles are very vulnerable to damage by external and internal stimuli.

Hair follicles get narrowed due to inflammation and restrict sebum discharge. When sebaceous glands are induced continuously, and sebum is restricted, small bumps appear and walls of hair follicles rupture. If the bump pops out sebum, it is called blackhead or pimples.

To prevent from weather-Induced acne, sunscreen and skin care lotions are necessary for regular rejuvenation and provision of nutrients burnt during sun exposure. Sunlight not only damage hair follicles but also damage vitamin C and E within the skin.
