Website Conquers Atheism with Prayer: No “Golden Compass” needed.

Dec. 3, 2007 - PRLog -- Bombarded by an influx of atheism, the world’s religious sector seems to be in a tug-of-war with secular-proathiests.  Now, one Website is making certain that there is a place where all “God” believers can come together and impress their prayers and well wishes upon the masses…including these avowed atheists.

Great controversy surrounds the new children’s movie entitled “The Golden Compass” due in theaters December 7.   The movie, featuring Nicole Kidman, is heavily touted and has been described as “atheism for kids”.   The film is based on the first book of a trilogy entitled “His Dark Materials” that was written by Phillip Pullman.  While the movie may seem mild, the books are a very different story.  In the trilogy, Pullman’s hatred of Jesus Christ is very obvious.   In a 2003 interview, Pullman notes “my books are about killing God,” and even goes so far to say that he wants to “kill God in the minds of children.”

So what is the problem with a movie like this? “There is no problem, as long as you don’t watch it” Paige Wheeler, CEO of iPrayToday.com says with a light smile. Today, there are so many negative and dark media presentations that are trying to get our attention and invade our hearts and spiritual spaces. “What you watch and what you listen to goes into your heart whether you think so or not.  Ultimately, the direction of your life is determined by a compilation all of the things which you have subjected your heart to during your lifetime.  Since most children have been subjected to very little in their young lives, I think it is a cheap shot on Pullman’s part.  I’m not asking anyone to boycott this film.  Something like this breeds debate, and debate is one of the most steadfast and fair ways to come to conclusions in ones life.  I think he should rise above his pompous attempt to influence children.”

On December 5th, just two days before the premier of “The Golden Compass”, the new prayer website www.iPrayToday.com (IPT) is inviting all believers in God to unite and bestow a special prayer upon those who have not yet had the revelation of God in their lives.  IPT is hoping to reach millions of new users who will help unleash the power of prayer. Subscribers receive a new prayer daily via email alert, giving them an opportunity to assist with a variety of  situations that are in desperate need of prayer i.e. Phillip Pullman.  People are also invited to submit personal prayer requests, pray for others in need and propose their own ideas for iPrayToday.com’s worldwide prayer reminder. The daily prayer service is free and available at www.ipraytoday.com/signup.php.
