Following the announcement in August that June’s book Genesis of Man was one of the first print on demand titles to be accepted by Gardners Books as a stocked title, June has been busy telephoning book stores up and down the country – including all 330 Waterstones branches.
She is delighted to announce that as a result, her book is now stocked in over 100 Waterstones stores and several branches of Borders – a total of 120 stores nationwide. These include Waterstones flagship stores in London’s Piccadilly, Manchester Deansgate and Gateshead Metro Centre. The book is also beginning to notch up some healthy sales, at an average one copy per day.
June said “I am delighted with these results which show, despite the numerous rejections I received from commercial publishers, there is a market for this book. The self published author has to work that much harder at securing shelf space and media coverage, and I know that everything I have achieved is entirely due to my own hard work and persistence.”
Genesis of Man is also currently featured in the December edition of Writers News. As the month of December began, Gardners were awaiting delivery of a further 100 copies, due to unprecedented demand.
June Austin’s Genesis of Man is an easy to read history of the evolution of man from the single continent to the modern day civilized man. The writing style is neither scholarly nor scientific, but written as a very readable and credible story. Her research includes current sources from archaeology, astronomy, ancient texts, current DNA research, psychics, saints, channelled sources, and religious myths.
