OSA Announces Boston Customer Forum, Focuses on Open Solution Adoption in the Enterprise

Nov. 28, 2007 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 26 / -- The Open Solutions Alliance (OSA), a nonprofit, vendor-neutral consortium dedicated to driving interoperability and adoption of comprehensive open solutions, today announced its Boston Customer Forum. The Forum is the fifth in the OSA's worldwide Customer Forum Series and will focus on helping tech professionals take advantage of the ever-widening market for business-oriented open software solutions.

   Co-hosted by OSA members Black Duck Software, Iona and Project.net, the free forum, entitled "Open Solution Adoption in the Enterprise," will take place Thursday morning, November 29, 2007 from 8.30 a.m. through Noon at the World Trade Center in Boston, 200 Seaport Blvd.

   "CIOs have more and more options to take advantage of the innovative power of open solutions. On Thursday, the OSA will share how it's working across communities and with multiple vendors to ensure these solutions work together to provide top-notch business results," said Dominic Sartorio, president of the OSA and speaker at this week's Forum. "The OSA's Customer Forum Series provides a unique venue for customers to share candid input that can help OSA continue its charge for better interoperability and the successful adoption of open source solutions."

   After the Boston Forum, the last in the 2007 series, the OSA will compile the customer feedback it has collected into a report that will highlight trends among users of open solutions and outline the opportunity for further innovation in the industry.

   The 451 Group's Raven Zachary will share information about adoption trends for open solutions, success stories and the role of open source in platform modernization.

   The OSA Customer Forum Series was created to give open source professionals a unique opportunity to share and learn from others the key issues and best practices for the interoperability of open solutions. The OSA Customer Forum Series aims to provide a venue for these professionals to be heard by a variety of vendors, to learn more about the deployment of open solutions, and for the OSA to document requirements that can be actively pursued by the members and broader open source software community. Forums have been held in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Barcelona and Philadelphia.
