Miss Andrews commented, “MediConcepts are key players in the Hong Kong medical sector and have a very entrepreneurial approach to business development. As Wyboston Lakes have a similar forward thinking philosophy, we felt that the two groups meeting would produce positive results, so we arranged this visit through the British Consulate General in Hong Kong. MediConcepts must have spoken to their colleagues from the other delegations as they also requested a visit to Wyboston, and all three groups have now expressed an interest in developing closer links with Wyboston Lakes.”
Last year, a delegation from China visited Wyboston Lakes as part of the China UK Cambridge Venture Park plans to establish a European centre for traditional Chinese medicine. Wyboston Lakes’ director of business development, Brian Payton who is heading the project said, “We have always taken an entrepreneurial approach to develop Wyboston Lakes as a world class centre of excellence. The concept of a medical centre based here was thought rather radical, but it complements the other centres of learning based on-site such as The Knowledge Centre. The very positive response and keen interest we have received from a range of international medical groups, means our foresight has been recognised, and we expect Wyboston to be at the forefront of medical innovation for many years to come.”
Added Miss Andrews, “The visitors were very impressed with Wyboston Lakes’ unique plans for a Medical Mall and will be sharing their interest with their membership on their return to Hong Kong. This is one of a number of exciting initiatives between Wyboston Lakes and EEI aimed at encouraging international cooperation between local businesses and overseas corporations.”
