Nov 26, 2007 – Palm Springs, CA -- Peruse, purchase and download eBooks by new authors and the best eBooks from self and independent publishers at the DPPstore (www.dppstore.com) .
In conjunction with DPPpress (www.dpppress.com) and DigitalPulp Publishing (www.digitalpulppublishing.com), an eBook publishing and distribution company, the DPPstore offers eBooks from first-time authors to well-established experts.
Nefertiti Presents… Belly Dancing "The Basics" by Sherry Jeffries (ISBN: 1-59196-118-1, 2002) is a flip-style, illustrated eBook for learning basic belly dance moves. It is printed in large font so the book can lay on the ground while the reader tries the move. The book includes detailed instructions for 20 basic moves, veil, floor work, and zills.
Jeffries created the book by using pictures of her mother "Nefertiti" (aka Doris Demarest-Nemith), who started "Nefertiti's Belly Dance Academy" in Phoenix, AZ in 1974. It was the first belly dancing studio in Phoenix.
Nefertiti studied under Jodette of Jordon in Sacramento, CA, Camilia from Jordon of the 7th Veil in Phoenix, and many other teachers. She taught Jeffries Lebanese, cabaret-style belly dance (Raqs Sharqi) and she picked Jeffries dance name - Ankestamen (one of the ancient Nefertiti's daughters) and certified her as a teacher by the age of 15.
Though belly dancing has been practiced and taught for centuries, it has become a popular practice of both dance and exercise enthusiasts over the past decade.
After a 10-year break, the author is back at the dance again, teaching, as well as taking lessons and experimenting with Tribal style.
