Established in 1989 by Dr Robert Vann, and Ben Essary, CTMS conducts clinical trials in a variety of therapy areas, specialising in respiratory, gastro-intestinal, central nervous system, infectious disease and ophthalmology. The company employs 190 people and has 36,000 sq ft of office space at its headquarters in Bristol, Tennessee, and in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
John Vann, previously president and CEO of CTMS, has assumed overall leadership of Chiltern’s US operations, becoming executive vice-president Americas, effective October 30th. Dr Robert Vann has retired. From February 2008, CTMS will be known as Chiltern.
“The acquisition of CTMS significantly increases our presence and expertise within the US and strengthens Chiltern’s position as a global CRO,” said Chiltern CEO Glenn Kerkhof. “Detailed planning for the integration of our operations is under way and we are very confident of a smooth transition.”
