PRLog (Press Release) –
Nov 23, 2007 – Augme- the website that allows users to create mobile phone-readable tags for free- has introduced a service to help artists and promoters to get music and video literally straight into the hands of their audience.
Via the account section on the Augme website, visitors can upload still image, MP3 and movie files (MPEG or 3GP) to be viewed or played on a mobile phone. Users can then create Augme Tags that link to the uploaded media.
Augme Tags are printable square codes made from smaller black and white squares. They can be printed on anything from T-shirts to posters, flyers, CD covers and more. A passer-by can take a picture of the tag using software on his or her mobile phone and immediately begin downloading music or video directly to the phone.
Software to read the tags comes pre-installed on many phones, such as the popular Nokia N95. If it isn’t on your phone, you can download it from Augme’s mobile site at m.augme.com. Once the software is installed on your phone, the Augme Tags become a link to download media, visit webpages and perform other online functions.
