Wipro Tech had received formal approval from the Union Govt, for 100 Acre Special Economic Zone at Vattinagulapalli (1Km from Gopanpalli T Junction) . Unlike other Real Estate Companies who have got SEZ approval and is now trying to cash out by selling land, Wipro has done quick work and is going ahead with Construction of Vattinagulapalli Campus.
This is Wipro’s second SEZ near Guchibowli, Hyderabad,India. Part of the Wipro Campus (limited to 16 Acres) at Guchibowli is a Notified Operational SEZ. Wipro is already generating revenue there and would have seen the operational profit increase with SEZ Operation. Commenting on the enthusiasm by IT Firms to go into SEZs, Mr Pramod Kiron, CEO, Exclusive Ventures commented; “With the possibility of STPI scheme being watered down, in 2009-10, its important for Companies to think ahead and shift their operations to SEZs to arrest possible erosion to their bottom lines, due to imposition of taxes.”
