Operation Family Fund Raises Over One Million Dollars in Donations

PR Log (Press Release) – Nov 21, 2007 – Ridgecrest, CA –– Operation Family Fund is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping families of fallen or injured military heroes. The group receives no government subsidies and is solely supported by private donations from businesses, individuals and other organizations.

Fundraising is an ongoing challenge for Operation Family Fund. As of November 2007 over 200 families have received grants, and more than one million dollars in donations have been received from generous Americans. Operation Family Fund has set a financial goal over the next 10 years to disburse $250,000,000 for eligible members and families to help rebuild their lives. This goal can only be achieved by the generosity of American businesses and private donations.

“I would like to thank everyone that has helped us achieve over one million dollars in donations for military families in crisis. The goal of Operation Family Fund is to bring hope to the devastated families of those who have paid the ultimate price of death or disability for our freedom,” stated Mike Cash, Founder and CEO of Operation Family Fund.

“We greatly appreciate the opportunity to build awareness of our organization and to help more families with financial grants for transitioning to their new circumstances and again regaining financial self-sufficiency,” Cash added.

Eligible members and families of Military and Civilian personnel who died or are severely disabled while serving their country as a result of Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom both domestically and abroad can be helped by Operation Family Fund. A member is defined as any person serving officially as an employee of the U.S. federal government or contractor to the U.S. federal government. The Operation Family Fund Board of Directors along with medical consultants shall determine eligibility of severely disabled members.

Operation Family Fund can accept cars and other vehicles as donations as well. Go to the Donate For Charity Inc. web site www.donateforcharity.com click on "Car Donation Form" then select "Charity Information" use the pull down menu and select "Operation Enduring Freedom Family Fund."
