A Maryland motorcycle rider attributes his Impact Jacket with saving his life. Joseph McPhatter was injured in a crash while riding on Interstate 83. After being cut off by another motorist he was ejected from the bike and hurtled 100 feet before hitting the ground at a high rate of speed.
Police stated that McPhatter might have been severely injured if he wasn't wearing an Impact Jacket- a motorcycle jacket equipped with an airbag system that inflates when the rider is in an accident.
McPhatter suffered sore ribs and knees and a dislocated thumb. The injuries could have been much worse said officials on the scene. McPhatters crash was the first known real-life incident in which an Impact Jacket was worn.
