Service Lighting and Electrical Supplies was honored on November 9, 2007 with a ranking of 88th in the 17th annual Dallas 100TM Awards. Co-founded in 1990 by the SMU Cox School of Business and the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship, the Dallas 100TM Awards is an annual event that identifies and honors the 100 fastest-growing privately held companies in the Dallas area. To qualify for the Dallas 100TM, a company must meet a number of criteria based on its legal status, location, sales history, credit report and character. For 2007 the criteria are:
• Be an independent, privately held corporation, proprietorship or partnership (not a subsidiary of a parent company) as of May 1, 2006
• Be headquartered in the Dallas area
• Have had sales of not less than $500,000 and not more than $75,000,000 in fiscal 2004
• Have a three-year sales history reflecting growth
• Have a credit report and character satisfactory to The Dallas 100TM, determined at the sole discretion of the Dallas 100TM

Today, Pedersen oversees sales of over $10 million annually and is currently in negotiations to lease an 86,000 sq. ft. call center and distribution facility for his “Empire of Light”.
