PRLog (Press Release) - Nov 16, 2007 -
Christmas 2007 at Dorothy Perkins consists of glamorous dresses, glitzy tops and show stopping shoes. The collection is modelled by world-class catwalk and campaign model, Heather Marks.

Party in style this Christmas...with the fusion of bright 80’s and sparkly 70’s, the influence is pure Studio 54. Bursts of coloured sequins on tops and dresses in a rich palette of prominent purples, disco pinks and peacock blues are sure to get heads turning. Glam body-conscious dresses, jersey playsuits and metallic lurex denim hot pants are key to this look but not for the faint hearted. Dresses are a must have for the party season, whether it is the simple but essential little black dress or the purple bandeau bubble hem dress, there is one for any occasion. Complete the look with statement jewellery, an oversized cummerbund and don’t forget the glitter!

Blacks and metallics create a more sophisticated party look for the season, while hints of bronze and gold are used to lift the black, creating more of a luxurious elegant feel. Ornate detailing in the form of gold rings and gold piping on tunic dresses and tops is a subtle nod to the medieval look along with heavy embellishment on torque necklines. The metallics theme uses black on black and the interplay of fabrics is important for this trend, providing an opulent feel to the outfits. The look is predominantly bejewelled dresses and tops, but there is a hint of classic tailoring as city shorts are used to add a more masculine feel.

This season Dorothy Perkins moves towards the pretty tomboy look, Soft Rock. A strong biker influence is softened with the combination of feminine detailing, ruffles and pintucks found on shirts and dresses. For a more directional look, cocoon and ovoid shapes are worked into this trend. Dresses are given a modernist twist with accessories kept to a minimum. Tailoring is kept unstructured, the slim fit blazer teamed with a pair of super skinny jeans to emphasize the relaxed tomboy look. Mix grey with accent colours pink and violet to ensure the look is kept clean and soft.
