Houston Business Woman receives 2007 Mentor of the Year STEVIE Award

Nov. 15, 2007 - PRLog -- Las Vegas, Nevada  – Dr. Laureen Wishom, CSO of Masterpiece Solutions, LLC received the 2007 Women in Business Stevie Award as Mentor of the Year. The gala event was held at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Melody Thomas Scott, who stars as Nikki Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” was the emcee.  More than 800 entries were submitted for consideration in over 40 categories.

Nicknamed the Stevie for the Greek word “crowned,” the Stevie Awards for Women in Business honors women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run -- worldwide.  The Stevie Awards have been hailed as “the business world’s own Oscars”  (New York Post, April 27, 2005).  The Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide. Distinguished members of the Awards Board selected the Stevie Award Winners.

The Stevie Awards (www.stevieawards.com/women) are conferred in four programs: The American Business Awards, The International Business Awards, The Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and The Selling Power Sales Excellence Awards. The Stevie recognizes outstanding performances in the workplace by honoring companies of all types, sizes and the people behind them.

On October 19, 2007, Dr. Laureen received the 2007 Finalist Pinnacle Award from the Houston Citizens Chamber of Commerce.  The Keynote Speaker was Cathy Hughes, Chair and Founder of Radio One.
