Redfield Alma Mater: No More Teachers' Dirty Looks is written for young adults and reluctant readers. Romanski's writing is reminiscent of the popular Nancy Drew / Hardy Boys Mystery books, in that the writing is fresh, the story is clean and wholesome; a true family friendly story. Romanski weaves an exciting tale, full of drama and suspense, building believable characters readers can relate to.
The story unfolds in a sleepy North Central Florida town, as a new arrival to Redfield Alma Mater turns up in time to disturb the tranquil, sometimes dull atmosphere of the local high school. Matthew Straighter, a troubled adolescent, on probation due to his involvement in questionable happenings in his former school. Mathew, can be described as belligerent, strong willed, and interested in murder mysteries. His goal of trying to write the perfect murder leads him to become the prime suspect in two startling murders at the school. With several strikes against him, would he be able to prove his innocence? Would his new found friend RAM, the school's mascot, be able to help him clear the muddy waters? Would the school and the small town be able to survive the double murders and the sinister plots?
Romanski, a retired teacher, has twenty-five years experience in trying to reach reluctant readers. Her series was written to appeal to reluctant readers, however, Romanski has created a story which appeals to readers of all ages.
