Deutsche Welle is bringing the German national soccer team, the “deutsche Elf”, to the Americas this month. Germany will square up against Cyprus on November 17 and Wales on November 21 in its last two UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifiers and DW-TV USA and DW-TV LATINOAMERICA will broadcast all the action as well as match highlights.
Deutsche Welle recently received the rights to broadcast the qualifying matches, which will be shown in full-length two hours after the live broadcast ends. “We had a great response to our broadcast of the Germany-Czech Republic match in October and we are hoping that all of our customers have the chance to tune in again,” says Guido Baumhauer, Director of Strategy, Marketing and Distribution at Deutsche Welle.
The match against Cyprus will be shown on DW-TV USA starting at 6:18 pm ET on November 17. Highlights from the match will also be shown on DW-TV USA in English on November 17 at 9:30 pm ET and at 1:30 am ET the following day.
On DW-TV LATINOAMERICA, the match will be shown on November 17 at 23:18 UTC. Highlights on DW-TV LATINOAMERICA will be shown on November 18 at 2:30 UTC in Spanish. Highlights in German will also be shown on DW-TV USA and DW-TV LATINOAMERICA at 3:30 UTC on November 18 (10:30 pm ET, November 17).
The following Wednesday, November 21, Deutsche Welle will also broadcast the match between Germany and Wales. On DW-TV USA, the match will start at 6:18 pm ET on November 21. Highlights from the match will also be shown on DW-TV USA in English on November 21 at 9:30 pm ET and on November 22 at 1:30 am ET.
On DW-TV LATINOAMERICA, the match will be shown on November 21 at 23:18 UTC. Highlights on DW-TV LATINOAMERICA will be shown on November 22 at 2:30 UTC in Spanish.
Highlights in German will also be shown on DW-TV USA and DW-TV LATINOAMERICA at 3:30 UTC on November 22 (10:30 pm ET, November 21).
