Susan Driscoll, president and CEO of iUniverse, will be the featured speaker at the upcoming Greater Los Angeles Writers Society special event for November. The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at the Palms-Rancho Park Library — The Ray Bradbury Room in Los Angeles.
Driscoll will provide authors with unbiased information and help them avoid the pitfalls and false promises that proliferate today's publishing landscape. A question and answer session will follow her presentation.
The co-author of Get Published!, a guide that provides an overview of publishing
options available to authors and describes the services available through iUniverse, Driscoll has decades of traditional publishing experience. Throughout her career, she has held management positions at Holt, HarperCollins and Holtzbrinck Publishers, including editorial director, director of marketing, director of new media and technology and director of operations. She joined iUniverse in July 2003, and since then, she has enhanced the company’s visibility within the industry by expanding iUniverse’s editorial and marketing services.
Before Driscoll appears, those in attendance will have time to network with other writers. Due to the event currently being at the capacity of the library's Ray Bradbury room, writers in the area who are interested in attending are requested to RSVP Tony Todaro, vice president of the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society.
The Greater Los Angeles Writers Society is in the process of chartering with the California Writers Club, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to educating writers of all levels in the craft of writing and the marketing of their work. Established in 1909, the California Writers Club is the United States’ oldest Professional Writer’s Organization of writers mentoring writers.
