Announcing the Launch of Toy Recall Alert, a New Facebook Application & www.RecalledToyAlert.com

New Facebook application and stand-alone website aim to help gift-givers ensure the toys on their holiday shopping lists are safe.

Nov. 14, 2007 - PRLog -- ConRoy Corp., LLC, a web application development startup, announces the official release of Toy Recall Alert (http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=9311057039), a new Facebook application and www.RecalledToyAlert.com a companion website for non-Facebook users.   The application and website launch are timely as many American consumers are beginning their holiday shopping and US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) toy recalls are at an all-time high.

By using the Facebook application or the website, consumers can be sure the toys and gifts on their lists are safe before heading to the store or shopping online.  Consumers can view complete CPSC recalls and browse top-rated toys from some of the country’s leading toy testers and safety experts.  Both the Facebook application and the website also allow users to search for recalled toys by product name, manufacturer name, retailer name, or by simply browsing images of recalled toys.  If users find a recall-free toy they can comparison shop and buy that toy online.

“Twenty-three toys have been recalled since October 1st and new recalls are being announced daily.” remarked Connie Stack, co-founder of ConRoy.  “Eight toy recalls were announced on November 7th alone. While these recalls are worrisome for consumers it can be difficult to stay up-to-date with the growing list of recalled toys”.  To address this problem, Toy Recall Alert posts the latest recall notices directly to the profile page for users of Facebook. Non-Facebook users may register at www.RecalledToyAlert.com  to automatically receive e-mail alerts each time a new toy recall is announced.  Both the Facebook application and the stand-alone website allow users to easily share the latest recalls with friends and family members.

To access the application, Facebook users can simply search for Toy Recall Alert in the Facebook Application Directory and add it to their account or visit http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=9311057039.  For non-Facebook users, the complete website can be accessed by visiting www.RecalledToyAlert.com.  Both the application and website are free of charge for consumers.

Toy Recall Alert is the second in a series of websites, Facebook and iPhone applications that ConRoy Corp. plans to release in the next few months.  Their first application, CoverCatalog, was released in October and allows users to create and explore their music, movie, and book collections as well as compare collections with their friends.

ConRoy Corp. was formed by two friends who like to create fun and useful online applications.  Their goal with Toy Recall Alert is twofold.  First, they want to do what we can to ensure children everywhere have a happy and safe holiday season.  Second, they want to help reduce the stress of toy-shopping for parents, relatives, and their friends. By checking their Facebook profile or visiting RecalledToyAlert.com before they purchase a toy, consumers can be confident that their chosen gift won't harm the child who receives it.
