With Desktop Analyst, manufacturers can more easily become involved in the management of their own lines at the retail level; and track their products through their entire retail lives. In a few simple steps, this software provides in-depth reporting on an individual sku’s inventory, sales and projections - all at door level.
The new version, Desktop Analyst SQL Server Edition, offers significant new features, including:
- Data source has been changed to a client-server application where multiple users can access the same Microsoft SQL database from individual workstations.
- A new "Business Overview" module that rolls up data by Retailer, Style and SKU. The user can view, sort and download the data to Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to tag items with user defined attributes. Items can have multiple tags, and tags can have multiple items assigned to them. For example, all black slacks, or all short sleeve shirts, or all items in a given season can be tagged. Once tagged, reports provide summary information for those tags.
- Enhanced search and item selection features.
- Even easier item management process.
- A completely redesigned Item Planner interface with more powerful trend and prediction features.
In addition, the next release will allow users to run the application in a disconnected state on a notebook and to synchronize the data with the central database once that notebook is connected to the local office network.
"Desktop Analyst has evolved based on input from our customers. Many of the most widely used functions today were developed based on that feedback. Once again, we listened to our users and this is what they have asked for" says Jim Lewis, Founder and CEO of Enhanced Retail Solutions. "This release is immensely gratifying."
