FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) –
Nov 11, 2007 – On an average festive shopping visit, customers walk away with over a dozen glossy Christmas Gift Guides featuring the latest must-have gifts and gadgets. But with so much to buy and so little time, retailers are finding it an uphill struggle to stand out from the competition. In response to this predicament, leading alternative format supplier TransMedia Link are advising retailers to consider a novel approach - communicating with their customers via downloadable audio versions of their Christmas Gift Guides and Promotions.
Very few customers enjoy the busy rush of Christmas shopping and for many; it’s a case of the quicker the shopping experience is the better. So instead of the usual approach to Christmas marketing, TransMedia Link are recommending adding downloadable audio files to the offering in an attempt to improve the shopping experience for time-strapped customers. Audio marketing encompasses a variety of outputs including CD’s, MP3 downloads and PodCasts. Retailers can choose whether to install the file onto their existing website or tap into an external, fully branded promotions page. “Downloadable Gift Guides also help retailers to reduce unnecessary paper wastage, enabling retailers over a period of time to produce less printed copies of the guides, resulting in a more environmentally friendly marketing strategy”, explains Morrison Ellis, General Manager of TransMedia Link. As well as providing a hi-tech, innovative and ‘greener’ approach to Christmas marketing, audio productions enable retailers to improve the accessibility of their products and services to often neglected disabled customers, particularly those with visual impairments. “A recent report by the Disability Rights Commission disabled people are getting a second class service and encountering major problems on four out of five of Britain’s biggest high streets. Alarmingly, one fifth of the disabled shoppers said they would not go back to the high street they visited” explains Susanne Campbell, founder of TransMedia Link. Designed to coincide with the launch of the Disability Discrimination Act Part three, TransMedia Link was founded in 1999 by Susanne Campbell and was the first commercial operation of its kind in the industry. Having acquired over twenty new clients this year including Government Departments, Utility companies and several from the Banking and Financial Services Sector, the team at TransMedia Link have also secured new contracts in the United States, supplying a portfolio of major organisations with annual review transcriptions and alternative format mailings. Ends Editor’s Notes TransMedia Link is a business to business service offering professionalism, guaranteed service levels and an innovative approach to the transcription of standard print into Braille, Audio and Large Print formats and more recently British Sign Language and Easy Read. Additionally they offer a translation service, translating any medium into the required language. They also provide web services to improve client’s websites and make them more accessible to customers with a visual impairment. Based in Tunbridge Wells, the team comprises twenty highly experienced and dedicated professionals, trained in every aspect of the day to day transcription process. Having firmly established their position as a leading supplier of high quality transcription and translation materials, TransMedia Link boasts an impressive client list of household names. Founded Susanne Campbell - the former Chief Executive of a leading blind welfare charity - in 1999, Gordon Campbell joined TransMedia Link full time in 2000 after leaving his position as IT Director of Securicor. Together they have worked tirelessly to improve the quality of productions for disabled customers across all sectors and work with both private companies and public sector companies and Government organisations.
